Obituary for Michael Coombes

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Michael Coombes which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 7th, 2020. Born 1933, in Rumford, England, he was the son of the late Walter Charles and Muriel Ivy (Smith) Coombes. Michael worked as a Mechanical Engineer and Missionary for several years. He was co-founder of Faith Bible & Agriculture School in Ghana, Africa and spent over 25 years on the mission field in various countries of Africa and Central America. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather with a strong faith and wisdom.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Edith (Fortin) of 54 years; sons Phillip (Aralee) of Shediac Cape, NB, Peter (Alicia) of Moncton, NB; grandchildren Jeremiah (Kellie), Gabriel, Veronica, Micah, Judah, Megan, Josiah and Olivia; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Memorial Service will take place at Full Gospel Assembly (34 Mount Pleasant Ave. East) on Wednesday, February 12th at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Fairhaven Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Michael may be made to Bridgehouse Ministries International.

Louisiana Disaster Relief Trip
Bridgehouse Ministries brought a team to Louisiana from Sept. 30 to Oct. 9 to to aid victims in the devastating flood that hit the area on August 12.
